This privacy policy applies to the PrepPeriod app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices, created by Fogarty Holdings LLC (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a free service with an optional one-time in-app purchase. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
PrepPeriod is a classroom documentation tool for teachers. It lets you capture classroom events — behavior incidents, hall passes, positive notes, parent-contact records, and attendance — from your iPhone and Apple Watch, and complete the details later. All of the information you enter stays on your own devices and within your own private iCloud account.
Short version: PrepPeriod stores everything you enter — including any student and class information — on your own devices and in your own personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. The Service Provider has no ability to access, view, or recover your data. There are no accounts, no developer servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party data sharing. Your data is never sold or shared. Ever.
The Application is designed with privacy as its core principle. It does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information with the Service Provider or any third party. Specifically:
When you use the Application, you may enter the following information about your classes and students, all of which is stored exclusively on your own devices and in your own personal iCloud account:
Every entry is timestamped on your device at the moment you capture it. This information is entered by you and remains under your control at all times.
The Application stores your data locally on your device and uses Apple's CloudKit framework to store and sync it in the private database of your personal iCloud account. This means:

PrepPeriod is designed so that any information you record about students — who may be minors — never leaves your control. It is stored on your own devices and in your own private iCloud account, is never transmitted to the Service Provider, and is not accessible to the Service Provider or any third party.
Because you enter and maintain this information, you are the controller of the student data within the Application. You are responsible for handling student information in accordance with your school's or district's policies and with all applicable laws and regulations, which may include the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other student-privacy or data-protection laws that apply to you.
The Service Provider does not act as a "school official," does not receive an educational record, and has no access to any student information you enter. You should record only the information you are permitted to record, use student identifiers consistent with your school's guidance (for example, initials where appropriate), and follow your institution's requirements for retaining and disclosing student records.
PrepPeriod is built to let you capture events from your Apple Watch. Data captured on your Apple Watch is stored on the watch and syncs with your iPhone and your private iCloud account using Apple's frameworks. As with all Application data, it is never transmitted to the Service Provider.
The Application uses Apple's local notifications framework to remind you to complete your captured entries — for example, during your prep period. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. No notification content is transmitted to the Service Provider (silent CloudKit sync notifications are managed by Apple and contain no user-identifiable content).
The Application is free to download and use. It offers an optional one-time in-app purchase that unlocks professional PDF report export. This purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit.
Any PDF reports you generate are created on your device. What you do with an exported report — such as printing, saving, or sharing it — is under your control and subject to your school's policies and applicable laws.
The Application does not share any data with third parties, and no data is ever sold or shared. The only external services involved are:
Both are governed by Apple's privacy practices, not the Service Provider's. The Service Provider may disclose information only as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process. However, as no user data is collected or stored by the Service Provider, there is no user data to disclose.
The Application is intended for use by teachers and other education professionals, and is not directed at children. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit data from or market to children, and does not collect any personally identifiable information from any user.
PrepPeriod may be used by a teacher to record information about students, who may be minors. As described above, this information is entered by the teacher, never leaves the teacher's own devices and private iCloud account, and is never transmitted to or accessible by the Service Provider. All data entered into the Application is stored on your own devices and in your own iCloud account and is under your full control. To delete your data, you can:
The Service Provider does not retain any user data and therefore cannot perform deletion requests on your behalf.
The Service Provider has designed the Application from the ground up with security as a core principle. Your data remains on your device and within your own iCloud account, where security is governed by Apple's iOS and iCloud infrastructure, including encryption in transit and at rest. Authentication to your iCloud account is controlled by your Apple ID credentials. The Application makes no outbound network connections beyond Apple's iCloud sync and the standard StoreKit transactions handled by Apple, and the Service Provider maintains no servers that store your information.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
