This privacy policy applies to the Bar Barons app (hereby referred to as "Application") for iOS devices, created by Fogarty Holdings LLC (hereby referred to as "Service Provider"). Bar Barons is a free social game for NYC bar-goers with no in-app purchases at launch. This service is intended for use "AS IS" and is restricted to users aged 17 and over.
Bar Barons is built on Apple's iCloud and CloudKit infrastructure. Fogarty Holdings LLC operates no backend servers and stores no user data on Fogarty-controlled infrastructure. Your private data lives in your personal iCloud container, which only you can access. Public data — bar visits and leaderboards — lives in CloudKit's public database, managed by Apple. We do not sell or share data with third parties, run no analytics, and serve no ads.
The Application collects only the minimum information needed to run the game. Specifically:

When you submit a claim, Bar Barons uses Apple's Vision framework to perform OCR on the receipt photo entirely on your iPhone. The text extracted from the receipt is compared against the bar's expected name to verify the visit. The receipt photo itself is never transmitted to Fogarty Holdings — it is stored only in your private iCloud container, where only you can access it.
Bar Barons requests location access in order to verify that you are present at a bar at the moment you submit a claim. The Application does not track your location continuously, in the background, or at any time other than the moment a claim is submitted. The verification check is performed against the bar's known coordinates; your precise location is not stored or published beyond what is required for that single verification.
The Application uses Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) to send notifications for friend requests, milestone achievements, and throne changes (for example, when someone takes a bar's Baron title from you). You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Bar Barons.
Friend connections require mutual confirmation. When both users accept, your display names become visible to each other within the shared activity feed. Your friend list is stored in your private CloudKit container. You can remove a friend at any time, which immediately revokes their ability to see your activity in their feed.
The Application is intended for users 17 and over due to its alcohol-related content. The App Store age rating restricts the Application accordingly. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 17. If you believe a user under 17 has used the Application, please contact us at contact@fogartyholdings.com and we will take appropriate action.
You have full control over your data and may delete it at any time:
The Application's only third-party data processor is Apple Inc., which provides Sign in with Apple, iCloud / CloudKit storage, Apple Push Notification Service, and the App Store. Apple's handling of this data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. No other third parties receive your data.
The Service Provider may disclose information only as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process. However, because no user data is stored on Fogarty-controlled infrastructure, there is no Service-Provider-held user data to disclose.
The Application relies on Apple's iCloud and CloudKit security infrastructure for data protection in transit and at rest. Authentication is handled by Sign in with Apple, which provides cryptographically-secured tokens without exposing your Apple ID password to the Application or the Service Provider.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use of the Application is deemed approval of all changes.
This Privacy Policy and your use of the Application are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA. The Application complies with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines.
By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
